"Merde!" Leo muttered in his native tongue. His cell had just lost service, thus he was condemned to the Ravenclaw Hangout. He noticed he didn't recgonize anyone at the hangout. That's odd, he thought. When he was anywhere else on campus at least one of his friends were their too, or someone he knew. As he scanned around the pretty filled room, he noticed that beyond the different cliques, their was a girl, sitting in a corner by herself, on the other side of the room. She was looking down to what seemed to be a book, reading.

Miyoko was busy trying to read a book in English. Kareem, Ren, and Max all very helpful to her, but she was also trying to learn on her own. She was getting more and more used to the strokes and shapes of the letters of the English alphabet. Suddenly, she felt as though she were being watched. She slowly looked up, noticing how much more crowded the room had become since she came in here and sat down. She had been so busy concentrating on the book that she had not noticed all the people filing into the room. She was scanning the room to see if anyone was looking her way when her eyes locked with a boy's who was across the room, looking at her. Embarrassed, she quickly looked down again, feeling the warmth rise to her face. She hoped that she wouldn't blush, but she knew that hoping was futile. She bit her lip and tried to go back to reading. After a few minutes, she gave up. She couldn't seem to concentrate on anything but thinking about how beautiful the boy's eyes were. She didn't remember seeing him around, then again, she was so new that she barely knew anyone. She sneaked another peak, and saw that he was still there, but she couldn't tell if he was looking at her anymore. She found herself smiling, then felt ashamed and put her head back down. Her brother didn't bring her to the United States of America to fawn over cute boys that she met. She shook her head and tried to forget about it, but she couldn't help looking up over and over again.

Wow... Leo thought. The girl he had noticed on the other side of the room had looked up at him, and he was amazed at her beauty. When her practically black eyes had met his blue ones, he got shivers down his spine, and suddenly felt somewhat self-conscience. She had the most beautiful black hair, a little past her shoulders with luscious curls. Her skin looked so silky and smooth, with not a blemish in sight. When she smiled at him, her teeth were so white, and he believed that it was the most brilliant smile he had ever seen. He felt butterflies rise in his stomach, he felt a little woozy, but he couldn't get his eyes off her. He noticed a little bit of a light pink blush rise to her face. He noticed himself chuckle, and feel a similar warmth rise to his cheeks as well. Leo had never felt this way before, he was amazed how this girl in the corner that he didn't even know could just bring so much feelings. Leo decided to walk over to her and talk to her, she seemed a bit lonely, and it broke his heart to see this young beauty all by herself.

Miyoko had tried to ignore the handsome young man whom she had caught staring at her, but after a few minutes, she saw him move out of the corner of her eye. She looked up and he was walking toward her! Her breath caught in her throat and her eyes widened. If she could've torn her eyes away from this godlike creature moving toward her, she would have stared at her feet, like she usually did. He seemed to have cast a spell over her, and she couldn't look away. Everything about him was beautiful to her. His pale skin, his blue eyes, his brown hair. Her heart seemed to be pounding at a hundred miles per hour. Miyoko figured she must look like an idiot, gaping up at him, so she tried to say hello, "Hi," She said quickly, when he finally made his way all the way over to her and was standing in front of her. She felt stupid, but she couldn't think of anything to say. It was like he had taken her voice away.

"Hi" the girl had said so quickly once he reached her. "Hello" he replied. Leo offered her his hand, "I'm Leonardo Kessler, or Leo." He was even more amazed on how even more radiant her beauty was up close, he didn't think anything could get even more beautiful when he was staring at her from afar, but she had proved him wrong.

Miyoko giggled quietly. She took his hand and shook it, "I am Miyoko." She replied, making sure she pronounced everything correctly and that she didn't forget any words. She noticed how he inflected some sounds. Seeing as she took French when she was younger, she could tell that he was French. She smiled. Miyoko hadn't really related with anyone here, mostly because she felt like she was the only who had English as a second language, but now she'd met Leo. Leo. She repeated the name again in her head. His English was much better than hers, but she could tell what words were hard for him to pronounce. She smiled and asked, "Are you born in France?"

Leo smiled when she giggled, she had such an adorable giggle. Miyoko... Her name kept repeating over and over in his head. He noticed that she seemed to have an accent, that he recognized, but couldn't remember where he had heard it. Leo smiled back at Miyoko, he was pleased that he wasn't the only one who also had trouble with English. Yes, his English had improved drastically compared to when he first had arrived in the U.S. Leo chuckled when she had asked him, "Are you born in France". "Yes, I was born in Paris, and lived their until I came here when I was 12." He replied. "Where are you from?" he asked her politely. Leo noticed that she had been reading a book in English, that he remembered reading when he first came to the U.S. and stayed with his dad for a little before he was sent here.

Miyoko nodded. She had been pretty sure that Leo was born in France before he had even confirmed it, but it was nice to know that she was still retaining some one her knowledge of French. She smiled, "I born in Korea." Miyoko pulled out a bookmark and stuck it between the pages that she was reading. It was a good book. It was a mystery, and Miyoko loved reading good mysteries. Miyoko liked it when Leo smiled. It was strange when she realized that he had captivated her heart in only a few moments. Her stomach fluttered and she pushed a lock of hair behind her ear. "I have not see you here before," Miyoko remarked. "I have been here three weeks, and I have not seen you. Do you not come to common room often?"

Leo smiled and nodded. He remembered one time when he was back in Paris, one of his Grandfathers friends had the same accent as Miyoko did, that's why it seemed familiar. Leo was somewhat glad that Miyoko hadn't seen him before, or he would've felt bad that he had been just noticing her. He was glad that she also seemed just as surprised to see him as he did her. Her movements seemed graceful, like the way she put her bookmark back in her book, the way she pulled a lock of her luscious curls behind her ear. "I haven't seen you before either, and I don't usually come hang out here, but I'm glad I did today." He replied to her question. Leo liked talking to Miyoko, she seemed nice, and she was absolutely beautiful, but she seemed a bit shy, which was understandable. Leo understood what it was like to leave your home and everything you know behind. Along with coming to somewhere totally different, and having to learn a totally different language. He could definitely tell that she was having trouble with English, and that he'd be more then happy to help her. Leo was absolutely amazed on how she had just won his heart over just a few minutes. "Do you like it here?" Leo asked Miyoko, he wanted to definitely continue talking to her. "Do you know any other languages besides Korean and English?" he also asked her, he was curious and wanted to know everything about her. How could this girl, no, how could Miyoko just all of a sudden win his heart in just a few minutes? Leo wasn't sure how, but he knew that he felt wonderful around Miyoko, and he loved that.

Miyoko couldn't help but blush when she heard his comment about being glad he came here today. She had to look up to see his face, as he was incredibly tall. When she realized how close they were to each other, she looked down at her feet again. "Well, I like my friends, and freedom I have here, but I do miss Korea," Miyoko smiled sadly. Usually, when she spoke about her home country, she ended up in tears and ran out of the room. And yet today she didn't feel the need to do either of these actions. Before she even asked herself the question, she knew the answer. He was the reason she didn't run away. And that both scared her and soothed her. She had never had much experience with real love. Back in Korea she had been set to wed someone she had barely ever met, but that wasn't love. She didn't even know what love felt like until now. "I speak French too," Miyoko answered Leo's question. She smiled, "Mais pas comme moi ai employé à.***"
***But not as well as I used to.

Leo grinned at Miyoko. He noticed that he had been smiling a lot around her, but he liked it how she could bring so much happiness out of him. Leo was shocked at himself though about his comment of liking that he came here today, and he knew he was only glad because if he hadn't come here today, he wouldn't be talking to Miyoko right now. And the thought of not talking or even knowing Miyoko, or that she even existed, upset Leo dearly, and broke his heart. Leo thought Miyoko looked even more adorable and radiant when she blushed. He even felt a little bit of a blush rise to his face as he noticed how little distance was between them. Leo was pleased that Miyoko also knew French along with Korean and English. "Wouah. Savez-vous de autres langues?" **Wow. Do you know any other languages?** He noticed a piece of stray hair stuck out a bit from her other curls. Without thinking, he stepped a little closer to her and reached out to her, and tucked the stray hair back behind her ear.

Miyoko shook her head. "Pas, je souhaite que j'aie fait cependant. Et vous?" Miyoko asked. ***No, I wish I did though. What about you?*** She found herself feeling more confident and less shy around Leo. Usually she would speak quietly to someone and look at her feet, rarely looking into their eyes. But with Leo, she could be herself. Sure she could be herself with Maxie and Renta, but it just wasn't the same. Miyoko was positive that this was love. When Leo put his hand near her face and put her hair back in place, she almost stopped breathing. When his hand returned to where it had been before, Miyoko felt disappointment. Then, without thinking about it at all, Miyoko overcame her shyness, and took Leo's hand, smiling at its warmth, and said "Would you like to eat lunch with me today?" For Miyoko, it was a big step. Lunch with someone, especially a boy she liked, might not have been such a big deal. Miyoko, however, is so shy, that this would have greatly surprised anyone that knew her.

"Definitely" Leo replied to Miyoko. He was a bit taken aback that she asked him, not that he minded, he loved that she had asked him. But, before he came over to her just a few moments ago, when he had just been looking from afar, she seemed a bit shy, but he understood why. Now, she seemed to be more comfortable and calmer and not as nervous, he felt the same. He had had so many butterflies fluttering in his stomach he felt woozy, Leo was surprised and proud of himself that he hadn't fallen over. Leo felt wonderful just standing and talking to Miyoko. It was Miyoko that made him feel so wonderful inside, like how he could just talk about almost anything and she would still listen contently to what he was saying. Could this be love that he was feeling right now? He didn't know about love, but Leo was most definite that with every passing second of every minute of every moment that he was talking to Miyoko, the more and more he was falling in love with her. "Where would you like to go for lunch?" Leo asked Miyoko, he was glad that she also wanted to spend some more time with him, as he did with her, he hoped that lunch would go well. Leo prayed that he wouldn't screw up during lunch, he had lost so much since he was six, and Miyoko was the last person he wanted to lose.

Miyoko laughed, and not the nervous laugh she usually had. It was a clear, confident laugh. She'd never felt so....so alive. Not since she was really young, at least. Miyoko shrugged, "Well, I do not think that we can leave campus. I thought we just eat in dining hall." Really, anywhere would have been fine with Leo. She looked at the watch on her wrist, it was about 11:34. "When you want to go?" Miyoko asked. She wondered if she would have time to freshen up, or if they were going to go right away.

Leo smiled at Miyoko. He loved her laugh, just like he loved everything else about her. The way her hair curled into luscious locks, the way her smile dazzled her face, the way her skin seemed so smooth. Everything about her, he loved. "Lets meet in the dining hall in about...15 minutes...?" Leo asked Miyoko, he wanted to have some time to think on what he could talk about with her in the cafeteria, but didn't want to be away from her at the same time. 15 minutes seemed like enough time to think, and not go crazy being away from her, he just hoped it was the right amount of time for her as well.
