Scribo stood near the edge of the forest. He looked up at the long branches of the trees. Surprisingly, even though he was now sober, he was still incredibly calm. It scared him to know this, even though he also knew that she could tear him apart within a second. The fact that he was excited that he was going to see her scared him even more. Scribo Laucuna never gave his heart to anyone, and the fact that it was beating in his throat wasn't a good sign. He bit his lip. He shouldn't have come. He wasn't worried about the physical danger to him. He was worried about if he *gulp* really was in love with her.

Sophia swung down the branches of one of the taller trees, feeling her throat constrict in nervousness. This meeting was so...insane! How could she have offered it? It was foolish, insane! But she was afraid of being head-over-heels for him. This meeting was so that she could either confirm or deny such things. And...if he was growing too attached...so she could start planning her escape to some far off country...perhaps she could return to the Volturi, insist that she had been a foolish child and they would take her back. She knew Aro--somewhat--and that he would take a lost child back. She paused where she was. There was Scribo. So close to her...she could her his every heartbeat even louder now. She could smell him without the smell of alcohol. "Hello."

Scribo had been looking the other way when Sophia came down from the branches. When she said hello, he whipped around in surprise, then smiled. "Hello," He replied. He still wasn't sure why he had this burning desire to be near her. He was pretty sure he was going insane, and Teddy would surely have the same opinion if he ever heard about this.

"Sorry to sound to cliche, but isn't it a beautifully awful day?" she asked, looking up at the darkening clouds for a moment. Warily, she stepped closer to him and wrapped her arms--covered by a thick material that looked feather-light--around his waist gently. Wow, he was so warm! And the closeness of his body made her throat burn out of control. But she didn't care. She could bear it until she could make a decision.

He was surprised by the sudden show of affection. The cold of her skin once again made him gasp almost inaudibly. Although this surprised him, he also enjoyed the feeling of closeness between them. He wasn't quite sure what to do, so he just nodded and agreed, "Yep. Very nice day." He couldn't think of anything else to say.

The sudden intake of breath sent Sophia jumping five yards back before he spoke. "I'm so sorry! Did I hurt you? Was it my skin? I'm so sorry," she exclaimed in fear, frightened of harming him. Inside her head she was cursing herself out, lecturing herself, telling herself to be more careful with him. He was human...he was fragile. Scribo wasn't indestructible, that was usually the trend of mortals.

"No. No, no. I was just a little surprised," Scribo laughed nervously. The fact that she was so cold wasn't news to him, he found that out the other night, but it still surprised him a little. Little by little he was growing more comfortable in the vampire's presence. "Sorry 'bout that," He mumbled.

"No, you didn't do anything. I shouldn't've done that. It was stupid," she shook her head, regretting having come to the meeting. She was putting him in danger.
Nevertheless, Sophia inched forward toward him again, slowly as she could. The girl didn't want to scare him or hurt him, or surprise him like that again.
Why couldn't she stay away from him?

Scribo decided to be honest, before he humiliated himself. "Ok, here's the thing. There's something about you that draws me to you. I have no idea what it is, but it certainly is strong. I can't seem to stay away from you, and I'm sure there's something wrong with feeling like that about something that could kill you in a matter of seconds. But...that's how it is," Scribo finished, waiting for her response.

That was exactly the opposite of what she wanted to hear. Sit down. The action was performed before the thought was complete. Sophia was down on the ground, knees curled to her chest. Her head was somehow spinning. What the heck was happening to her? She hadn't felt like this when she was with him the other night. Was this a normal thing? No! It couldn't be! He knew how dangerous she was and he felt like he did anyway. "Well...here's another thing. I'm not safe for you. You shouldn't feel like that," she said before she'd thought it through. "Because I can't put you in that position."

Scribo deflated like a balloon. He didn't want to hear that. He could stay away from her if he tried, and go on with his life as if she never existed, but he didn't want to. Did this mean she didn't feel anything for him? He could live with that but he didn't want to. "What position?"

"I'm immortal, Scribo. And a bloodsucker...." she gulped. "What if I lost myself and killed you? And if not that...then I'd still have to watch you die! Which would you rather want? The pain of being killed by the most beautiful killer on the planet? Or the pain of dying slow while I watched?" she shook her head. "There are so many dangers....there was a girl, a few years ago...she fell in love with a vampire...and now she's one! The d**nation of eternal life! It's just as bad as dying young and slow. Why would you even want to risk that?"

Scribo listened to Sophia's little speech. He listened to each point she made, nodding, though not actually considering them. "Why would I risk it? I think you know the answer," He replied simply. Yes, he very well might risk his life to be with her. Why? He had no idea.

"Because you're not understanding this situation?" she replied raising an eyebrow. What was he aiming at? She was confused of what he meant by she knew the answer. "I have no idea what's on your mind. You can stay away from me. I know you can, you can stay away from me one day. I can't hurt you, Scribo. You should stay away from me,"

(((wow, sophia. do you think you said "stay away from me" enough times? lol))) Scribo shook his head. "Yeah, here's the thing. I really don't think I could stay away from you. Maybe I should, but I really don't want to." He sighed, "Do you want me to?"
