Choi stretched his arms and rolled his shoulders. He wasn't usually one of the ones who went out cliff diving, but he needed something to clear his mind, and flying through the air usually wiped the mind for a few seconds. He was wearing a t-shirt and trunks, and as he approached the cliff, he took off his shirt. He stood on the edge and looked down. He'd gone up to the top cliff, it would give him more of a rush. He smiled. He bounced back and forth on the balls of his feet, getting ready to jump.

Jimmy, Ren's older-than-hell red Jeep pulled up to the cliffs. Tris had told her that Choi was down here, and she needed to talk to him. She was bursting with energy, and, well, cliff diving seemed as good a way as any to burn it all off. "YO!" She shouted, sticking her head out of her open window. "CHOI! Don't do it, man, you've got so much to live for. Besides, I wanna talk to you!" She hopped out of the car. She was wearing ripped straight-leg jeans, a tank top, and her bikini. Her long hair ruffled in the breeze. "Christ, do I have news for you."

Choi nearly fell off the cliff in surprise. Knowing that hitting the water at the wrong angle could kill him, instead of letting himself fall off the cliff, he fell backwards. Lying on his back, he looked up at Renata. "Hey, what news could be so important that you felt the need to try to kill me?"

Ren laughed as Choi almost fell off the cliff. "Sorry, didn't mean to do that," she said, then flopped down in the grass next to her homeboy. She ruffled his hair-- cause she knew it annoyed the nuts out of him-- then grinned. "I bring you news from the world of Forks Academy!" All of Ren's pack knew about her being a witch. "You're not gonna believe this but...I have a boyfriend."

Choi slapped her hand away when she ruffled his hair. As she was talking, he fixed his hair into his usual faux-hawk with side-burns. He barely heard her, but then he heard the keyword...boyfriend. For one moment he was just so much in shock that he was completely silent. Then he burst into laughter. "Boyfriend? You?" Choi choked out between bouts of laughter.

Ren glared. "Yes, homo, a boyfriend. I know it's unexpected, but is it really that funny?" She asked, her tone angry and defensive. Choi, being part of the pack, knew all about her and Jude, and what had happened. She thought he of all people would understand about why getting a boyfriend was important. She wasn't gonna tell Tris, cause he'd get all over-protective and sh*it, but she thought Choi would be cool. Apparently not. "Can you try to be serious? I've had a great amount of spiritual growth in the past few days," she said, in a mock-important tone.

Once Choi got past the initial shock of hearing the news, he smiled widely. He was glad that she'd moved on from Jude. He'd always liked Jude when Ren was going out with him, and after the car crash, it was pretty hard on most of the pack. He held up his hands in a sign of seriousness, "Of course I can. I'm glad for you." Then he reverted back to himself and grinned, "When do I get to meet the lucky guy?"

Ren grinned. "Thanks, dearest. I knew you'd understand." Ren lay back on the grass and sighed. She could understand Choi's shock, but she was glad he had been cool about it. She looked up at the gray sky and smiled. It was a nice dayout. It wasn't raining-- yet-- and it was warm. And the weather reports said it was supposed to be 75 this weekend. "How about Saturday? I was thinking of bringing Kareem up to the rez anyway. We could make it a pack get-together."

Choi smiled. "That sounds great," Choi rolled over and sat up, "I'll let everyone know. And since you came to me about it, and Tris hasn't said anything about it, I'm assuming you haven't told him. Therefore, I'm assuming you want this to be our little secret until Saturday. Am I right in assuming this?" Choi grinned playfully.

Ren laughed. "Yes. Wanna use the word assuming one more time?" She asked sarcastically. "But, seriously. I don't want Tris to know yet. He'll freak. First, he'll be all happy that his emo little sister is no longer stuck in the past, but then he'll freak out that I'm dating an older boy who just happens to be a wizard. It won't matter to him that Jude was older, too. He'll go into protective-older-brother mode." Ren sighed, remembering when she and Jude had started dating. It had been really bad then-- Jude had been Tris's best friend. Awkward...

"Yes, I do wanna use the word assuming one more time," Choi paused, "And now I have." He listened to her mini-rant, and when it was over, Choi nodded, "Don't worry, I won't tell him. Your secret is safe with me," Choi smiled. Then he did a double take, "Wait a sec, how much older?"

Ren rolled her eyes. "Jerk," she muttered. She knew what his reply to that would be...When Choi promised not to tell Tris, she sighed in relief. "Thanks, lovie. It'll be better if I tell him. It'll be especially better if he can phase when I tell him, cause he'll be mega-pissed." Choi's double-take caught her off guard. Immediately, she shook her head. "Not that much older. He's only 17, and besides, you know that I'm older that I actually am." Red had been stuck at 15 for the past three years, because of the whole werewolf-phasing-equals-not-aging thing. Not that she really looked 15, but whatever.

"pregnant dog," Choi replied. Whenever Renata called him jerk, he immediately replied with pregnant dog, and vice versa. They'd been doing that for longer than Choi could remember. "Yeah, besides, if I told him, he'd probably kill me just for being the bearer of bad news. And I'm not interested in getting into this with Tris...at all." Choi listened to her explanation of how old her new boy-toy was. "Seventeen, huh? Well, that's not too bad. When you said older, I was imagining a teacher, and then Tris woulda killed you." Choi flopped back onto his back, staring straight up at the dull, gray clouds. "But if you count looks, he's actually younger than you." A loose strand of hair had fallen into his face when he had fallen back onto his back, and he was now busy blowing it out of his face, having it land back where it had been before he did that, and blowing it away again.
