Choi pushed past some burly seniors on the way to his locker. They were the ones who always made fun of him for his hair and the way he dressed. He usually ignored them, but today they messed up his hair. He turned around, fuming. For a moment, one of them looked scared, but then he said, "You gonna do something about it?" That calmed Choi down, because he knew if he phased, he'd ruin everything. So he just smiled and turned, heading for his locker again. Then he smelled something weird....something familiar. He whipped around, looking for the source.

Sunny skipped down the hall, her canvas bag hanging over her skinny shoulder, and her brand new schedule in her hands. This was the first time she had gone to a regular school since she was 10. After that, her parents had pulled her out, and home schooled her in the back of the family RV as they traveled around. And, well, after the summer of '67, she hadn't really been able to go outside during regular school hours. But, now, in rainy old Forks, she could go outside whenever she wanted--provided it was cloudy. Suddenly, a strange scent hit her nose. It was like...wet dog. Certainly not human, and without a doubt not vampire. Well, what the hell was it? She pivoted slowly, trying to see if she could find the source of the strange smell.

Choi's eyes were searching the cramped hallway for some sign of the vampire that he knew was there. Suddenly, he locked eyes with the crimson eyes he'd been looking for. He slowly made his way over to her. As he did so, the hallway was emptying into classrooms. Then the bell rang. d**n it, he'd be late again. Oh well, this was more important. He stood in front of her, a little more tense than he usually was. Though, for Choi, that was still pretty laid back compared to most people. He noticed that he had to look down to actually see her face, jeez she was short. What had she been when she was changed? Thirteen? He frowned slightly, and it looked out of place on his usually smiling face, "Who are you?"

Sunny sighed as the bell blared. It was her first day, and she was late. Probably not the best impression to give the teachers. Ah, well. She didn't really care. She could always hypnotize them into thinking she wasn't late...but that would be using her powers for evil, not good. Looking up at the rather cute Asian guy who was in front of her, Sun realized that he was the one who smelled so strange. With a shrug, she smiled brightly up at him. "I'm Sunshine Carlson. I'm new here," she said, using her full name (for no good reason). She stuck out her hand to shake. "Who are you?"

Sunshine Carlson. Nice name. "I'm Choi, Choi Takashi," Choi introduced himself. He hesitated briefly before he took Sunshine's cold hand to shake. He knew it was coming, but he still managed to be surprised by the temperature of her hand. "What are you doing here?" Choi asked, a tad more coolly than necessary.

"Choi. It's nice to meet you," she said sincerely. She liked this Choi guy. He was cute, and seemed nice. As she shook his hand, a tiny gasp escaped her lips. His skin was so warm! It was at least 10 degrees warmer than an average human's. He didn't look sick, but then again, what did Sunny know about human sicknesses? His question snapped her out of her momentary reprieve. Sunny, who was not really great at picking up on sarcasm, irony or cold inflections, looked confused. What did it look like she was doing, dancing the salsa? "I'm going to school," she said, resisting the urge to throw a 'duh' on the end.

Choi hid his surprise at her apparent obliviousness. "I realize that," Choi rolled his eyes. "But don't you think it might be a bad idea for a bloodsucker like you to go to school with two or three hundred other students?" He shook his head, "I mean, really? What exactly are you thinking?"

Sunny's jaw dropped. What...the...John Lennon? How did this oddly-smelling cute boy know what she was?! "Oh, my god," she whispered, then glared up at him. Okay, Sun knew she didn't look all that intimidating-- standing at 4'11", with a sweet, innocent face-- but she hoped the fear and anger in her bright red eyes got the message across. "How did you know?! I'm not that transparent, am I?" She asked concernedly. Oh, god, if her disguise was gonna fall apart this easy, she might as well just give up now. "And for your information," she said, a little more snappily than she would have liked, "I have perfect self-control, thank you very much."

Choi suppressed, with much difficulty, laughter at the fact that this tiny little thing was trying to stare him down. He noticed for the first time that she was pretty cute, but he quickly brushed that thought away. No way he was getting involved with a bloodsucker, even if she was adorable. "No, you're not that transparent, but someone like me knows what to look for and," Choi made a face, "Smell for." Hearing her snap at him just sent him over the edge. He broke out laughing and smiled down at her, "You're adorable!"

"Someone like you?" She asked, her pale brow furrowing. "And how do you know what to look for and...smell for?" Sunny asked, pausing the way Choi had. Well, at least she wasn't transparent. She could stay here...at least for the time being. When Choi burst out laughing, Sunny was confused. What was so darn funny? But then he called her adorable, and a smile quickly spread across her face. "Thank you!" She said sweetly.

The fact that Sunshine still seemed to be clueless about what Choi was talking about confused him greatly. "You mean you aren't itching to tear me limb from limb right now?" He asked, still incredibly confused. Why didn't Sunny regard Choi with the same level of coolness that he did her? This was all really weird. What was going on here?!

Sunny had no idea what this boy was talking about. She felt very young and stupid and...well, noobish. She was utterly confused. Why was Choi acting so...cool towards her? Gah, everything was so on crack today. "Um...no. Should I be?" Sunny asked nervously.

"Yeah, probably," Choi replied. Then he noticed how confused she looked and explained a little. "Our species are practically mortal enemies." Seeing that she was still confused, he pointed to her saying "Vampire", and then pointed to him, saying "Werewolf". "Does that sorta clear things up?" Choi asked.

Mortal enemies? Sunny listened intently, thankful that Choi was explaining all this to her. God, she felt stupid. SHe nodded as he pointed to her, saying vampire. It was a statement of facts, not an insult. BUt when he pointed to himself, saying werewolf, she was surprised. "Werewolf? Really?" Sun asked, shock evident in her voice. "I didn't know they existed. Yeah, that explains a lot. Thanks." Huh, so vampires and werewolves were mortal enemies. And here she was having a conversation with a werewolf in the middle of a deserted high school hallway. Odd, no? "So, werewolf...like, change with the moon, bite people kinda werewolf?" She asked, having no idea what to expect.

Choi couldn't help laughing. "No, I don't do that moon thing," Choi said, motioning upwards. "And I haven't really tried it, but I can say with some certainty that I can't change someone into a werewolf by biting them. It's sorta something you're born with." He smiled. "Right um..I should probably get to class. Wait, you're new here, right? Maybe I can show you to you're next class. What is it?"
