Sunny nodded. So, everything she had heard about werewolves was wrong. Cool. "That sounds pretty wicked," she said, adjusting her bag. She would love to be able to turn into a wolf-- or any animal, for that matter. When Choi asked if she was new, Sun nodded. "Um," she said, opening her schedule, "I've got English next," she said with a grin. She loved English class, though she had probably read all the books they would be working on. The curriculum hadn't changed much in almost 60 years.

Choi laughed. Wicked probably isn't the word he would use it to describe it. Annoying, sometimes. Maybe even useful. But it wasn't all that great sometimes. "English, huh?" Choi smiled, "Whaddya know. That's my next class." Choi leaned over a little and stole a glance at her schedule. "Wow! Actually, we have a lot of our classes together! Weird, huh?" Alright, then. Choi nodded to indicate that she should follow him. He led her to the class and opened the door to the professor already halfway into his lesson. "Um, hi Mr. Macintosh. Sorry, I was on the way to my locker, and I found Sunny, who's new." He realized he was babbling, and that Mr. Macintosh was looking at him funny, so he went to his seat.

Sunny grinned. Her first day, and already she knew someone in a lot of her classes. That relieved her. Sun hadn't been to school in a long time, so she didn't know how much things had changed. "That's awesome," she said, beaming, then hurried off after Choi. When they arrived, Choi tried to explain to the teacher, but wound up babbling. Sunny, however, turned to the teacher, and gave him a full dose of her eyepower. "You will forget that Mr. Takashi was late to class today, kay?" She asked. The teacher nodded, took her schedule, signed it, and pointed to the only open desk. Whaddya know, it happened to be right next to Choi's.

Choi raised an eyebrow when she spoke to the teacher. But it appeared that none of the other students noticed. Though, of course, that might be because they were busy throwing paper airplanes and texting. He smiled when Sunny came to sit next to him. "Isn't it a coincidence seeing you here?" Choi joked.

Sun skipped to her seat, and sat down. Peeking in her bag to make sure William (her newt) was okay, she giggled. "What a strange coincidence!" She said, grinning. "So," she asked, turning to Choi, "What exactly are we learning?"

Choi kept one eye on the professor and turned to Sunny. "Right now we're doing Shakespeare," He grinned, then struck a dramatic pose, "To be, or not to be, that is the question!" He pulled out his notebook as the teacher started talking again. He took a few notes, but mostly he sketched in the margin.

"Sweet," Sunny said. She loved Shakespeare. "But soft! What light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun," she said, quoting softly. She had read all of Shakespeare's works (she had nothing better to do-- it took her a day), so this was all review. She, too, took out her notebook, but randomly began to sketch on the back.

Choi laughed quietly as Sunny quoted Shakespeare. Choi tried paying attention, he really did! But when the teacher called on him, he had no idea what they were doing. He bit his lip, and completely improvised. "Um...because, erm. The sonnet was a beautiful-" Mr. Macintosh cut him off by saying, "Well, Choi. That was a wonderful answer to my question. My question was, can anyone tell me what year Shakespeare was born in?" Choi smiled, "Oops."

Sunny giggled, her soft voice sounding like wind chimes. She shot Choi a sly glance, then shot her hand in the air. Mr. Macintosh raised an eyebrow at her enthusiasm, but nodded. "Yes, Miss...Carlson?" Sun nodded. "William Shakespeare was born in 1564, and died in 1616," she said. For some reason, Sunny had always loved Shakespeare, and knew random facts about him (as well as a ton of sonnets and parts of his plays) off the top of her head. Mr. Macintosh smiled. "Very good, Sunny. I see we have a Shakespeare buff among us." Sun glowed under his praise.

Choi shook his head, and jokingly said under his breath, "Geek." Mr. M's response to hearing him mutter was throwing a piece of chalk at him. Choi crossed his arms and stuck his tongue out at the teacher. Mr. M was cool, so he just ignored that and turned back to the chalkboard to continue the lesson. He once again lapsed into silence, drifting into his own universe, completely not paying attention. When the bell rang, he got up from his seat and waited at the door for Sunny.

Sunny giggled. "Thank you," she said. She didn't mind being called a geek. In fact, she rather liked it that Choi called her a geek. The class continued, and Sunny answered two more questions correctly. Then, the bell blared. Lunch time...well, for the humans. Sun hopped up, but took her time packing up, so as not to crush William the newt. Then, she skipped to the door, and grinned up at Choi. "So, lunch..." she said. "Do you care if I sit with you? I've got no where else to sit."

Choi watched from the door as Sunny took her sweet time packing up. the room was almost empty when she came up to him and asked if she could sit with him. He smiled, "Why do you think I waited for you?" He motioned by nodding that she should follow him, and he led her to the cafeteria, where the cliques were already piled into their "spots". He saw his people waving to his to come sit down, knowing that he was always fast to get out of class and usually had his lunch by now. He shook his head and pointed to the line. Bobby gave him a thumbs-up and went back to eating his lunch. That was usually the most communication he ever had with some of the people from his table. He'd usually only talk to Bobby and a couple others. "Come one," He dragged Sunny to the end of the line. Usually he was one of the first one's here, but now they were at the end of a pretty long line. He sighed and turned to her. "So, anyway, what's with you and Shakespeare, while we're waiting?"

Sunny grinned happily. She followed Choi down the hall to the cafeteria, and saw his "conversation" with one of the other guys there. Sun smiled, realizing she really liked Choi. He was smart, funny, and just very nice. Well, it had been a long time since she had connected with anyone this side of living, and she tried to convince herself that was why she felt so attached to him. But, deep inside, she felt something more for him. It was almost the same as she had felt for Lucas, but that had been paired with adrenaline and hormones. Now, what she felt was more intense, if coming on slower than it had last time. But it was there, the warm burning in her chest, the ache to be near him. When he asked why she liked Shakespeare, she shrugged. "I don't know. His work is just so beautiful and true. What he wrote about love, it's just so...pure. It's like, he got it, you know? He understood it all, way better than any of us ever will, at least without his help. And he was so young. And he still, like, knew all this stuff about love and life and happiness. It's just incredible." Sunny had forgotten there was anyone else listening, but was quickly snapped back to the present. She would have blushed if she could have.

Choi smiled. He enjoyed listening to her. Maybe it was just because she was from a way different time period, and he loved hippies. "Cool, I didn't know you could be so deep," Choi grinned. He grabbed a veggie burger and some of the potatoes that were for lunch today. Most people passed up the veggie burgers, preferring the real meat, but, the lunch ladies here really knew how to make a vegetarian happy. Choi himself wasn't actually a vegetarian, he just didn't enjoy eating animals and avoided most of the time, though if need be, he wouldn't turn down a nice juicy steak. Also, they made a real good veggie burger. He also took an apple and some vanilla pudding. The lunch ladies were always really nice to Choi, mostly because he didn't make their life difficult like a lot of the other kids did. He nodded and wished them a good day and led sunny over to his table. Once there, he began to introduce everyone to Sunny. Going around the table, starting on the other side of Sunny, "That's Sarah, that's Jorge, that's Spike, we don't actually even remember his real name, that's Lindsey, and this is-" The boy he was about to introduce cut him off, introducing himself, "And I'm Bobby, nice to meet you." This earned Bobby a slap upside the head, "Knock it off," Choi muttered, then added, "Everyone, this is Sunny."

(((Lindsey as in Ami's Lindsey, right? We should probably let her know she's Choi's friend ))) Sunny hurried through the lunch line, grabbing food without thinking about it. The last time she had been in a real school, she had been able to eat, so she immediately fell back into her old routine. Grab a sammich, milk, some salad and a cookie, then get to your table. It felt like Sunny had never left a school. It made her smile to think that at least somethings had stayed the same. Then she realized...what in Buddha's name was she going to do with all this food?! Internally smacking herself, she followed Choi to his table. She smiled at all his friends. Sarah, Jorge, Spike, Lindsey and Bobby. She could remember that. Sunny giggled at Bobby, then turned to all Choi's table mates. She flashed a peace sign. "Hey." (((Aww, fudge monkeys, just realized im on the wrong account. Just pretend sunshine's doing the talking)))
